First, let me ask YOU one question…

Are you “for hire?” Do you do graphic/web design? What’s your rate?

Whoa, that’s several questions at once! But it’s okay, we can take all these together…

Yes, I can be available. For the past 14 years, I’ve worked full-time for one company at a time. That’s all changed in the last few months, after a leading curriculum publisher in the Denver, CO area laid off about 30% of their staff in the general panic of our big economic crisis. Now, while I scout for a new permanent position, I’m on my own. I do have a few clients who rushed me soon as they heard I had some free time. But there’s still plenty of free time to go ’round, and I’m happy to let you have some.

Graphic and web design, too? No, I don’t get techno-geeky. But I have some great friends who do. If your project involves design for print/web or development and programming for a site, I bring in my close partners who excel in those areas. In the end you still get all your final, integrated “deliverables” directly from me.

Before we work together, you’ll get a project proposal from me that details the work, the deliverables and estimated total time/price. We will also both sign a service contract. That process can take a couple days, but you don’t get billed for that time.

Meanwhile, I’ve just launched a “sale!”

1 FREE hour when you buy 4:

(Pre-pay for 4 hours and mention this blog)

Special Rates, Per Hour:

$60 Consulting only
$80 Content only
$100 Content & Consulting package

Those rates above are HALF what I charge for “walk-up” clients who don’t know enough to negotiate (you’re smarter than that, right?). Please email or call for custom quotes on design/creative projects.

Where can I see some of your work? Besides all your writing on this site…

As this site grows, I plan to move my portfolio here. For now, check out BrightFuse. My network profile there has a dedicated tab for that, and I keep it loaded with good stuff. I add more regularly, sometimes from my archives (just for fun), more often new pieces.

Do you have a network profile I can browse?

Yes, I sure do. Got two, in fact. Packed with credentials, testimonials, creative work samples, reading lists, and more (like RSS feeds straight from this site). Here are links to both profiles:

What do you like to do when you’re not swamped with projects?

I love this question… wish it were the first one people ask.

When I can get active outdoors I love to snowboard, mountain bike, golf, swim, and hike. When I’m feeling more relaxed… I listen to music (the iPod is permanently set to shuffle my master library of over 10,000 songs), play music (I don’t just write ad copy!), read, write, paint, cook, and travel. My other interests include concerts and theater, number theory and quantum physics, grammar and punctuation, thinking and… not thinking.
